Vascular Care in Miami: PAD & Venous Disease Treatment

Medically reviewed byDr. Pedro Martinez-Clark, MD, FACCLast reviewed: June 7, 2026

Our endovascular procedures use small catheter-based access points instead of open surgery. That means most patients go home the same day, return to walking quickly, and avoid the long recovery and scarring of traditional vascular surgery. Dr. Pedro Martinez-Clark and his team have performed thousands of peripheral vascular procedures across Miami-Dade County.

Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)

PAD is a circulatory condition in which narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to the limbs — most commonly the legs. Untreated, it can lead to claudication (pain when walking), non-healing wounds, and in severe cases, limb loss. We treat PAD with angioplasty, atherectomy, and stenting to restore healthy blood flow.

Common warning signs: leg cramping when walking, coldness or numbness in a foot, slow-healing sores on the feet or toes, and changes in leg skin color. If you notice these symptoms, schedule an evaluation.

Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI)

CVI occurs when leg veins fail to return blood efficiently to the heart, causing swelling, aching, varicose veins, skin discoloration, and venous ulcers. We offer modern catheter-based treatments — including thermal and non-thermal vein closure — that are performed in our office and require minimal downtime.

Treatment improves comfort, mobility, and the appearance of the legs, and dramatically lowers the risk of long-term complications such as venous ulcers and blood clots.

Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE) for Knee Osteoarthritis

Non-surgical knee pain treatment in Miami

Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE) is a minimally invasive, image-guided procedure that reduces chronic knee pain from osteoarthritis by targeting the abnormal blood vessels driving inflammation in the knee joint — without surgery, general anesthesia, or knee replacement.

Symptoms we treat

  • Persistent knee pain from mild-to-moderate osteoarthritis
  • Pain that limits walking, stairs, or sleep
  • Tenderness and swelling around the knee joint
  • Inadequate relief from medication, injections, or physical therapy
  • Patients not ready for — or wanting to avoid — knee replacement

Treatment overview

  • Outpatient, image-guided procedure (about 1–2 hours)
  • Performed under local anesthesia with light sedation
  • Tiny pinhole access — no surgical incision
  • Microscopic particles block abnormal arteries fueling joint inflammation
  • Most patients go home the same day

Expected results

  • Meaningful pain reduction in roughly 70–80% of patients
  • Initial relief within 1–4 weeks; continued improvement over months
  • Better mobility, sleep, and daily function
  • Return to normal activities within a few days
  • Durable benefit reported out to 1–2+ years in published studies
